Healthy Green Smoothies

Hi friends!  Today I am featuring a guest post from a fellow blogger, Seri from Serisblog.com.  She is sharing with us her favorite healthy green smoothies which are perfect for the hot summer days!  I tend to stick to the same, aka boring, smoothies so this is good inspiration for changing it up!  I’m going to let Seri introduce herself, her blog, and her social media links and then we’ll get to the good stuff!

5 Healthy Green Smoothies

1) Summer Green Drink

  • 2 cups cubed watermelon
  • 1/2 cup frozen or fresh strawberries
  • 1/3 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1-cup kale
  • Handful fresh mint
  • Optional 1 small chunk fresh ginger

Instructions:

  1. Use vitamix, or blender. For nutribullet may need to cut portions in half.
  2. First blend watermelon.
  3. Add fruits and blend on high.
  4. Add greens and blend on high.

 2) Refreshing Green Juice

*Best to use juicer

  • 2 large cucumbers peeled and seeded (if organic, may keep skin on)
  • 1 granny smith apple, cut up
  • 1 pear, cut up
  • 1-cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 lime peeled

Instructions:

  1. Juice mint and cucumber together.
  2. Juice apple, pear and lime.
  3. Mix well.
  4. May refrigerate for 12 hours.

3) Anti-Inflammatory Green Drink

  • 12-16 ounces cold water
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 2 cups kale
  • Handful parsley
  • 2 handfuls fresh mint
  • 1/2 lemon freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 inch piece fresh peeled ginger
  • If available, 1/2 inch piece fresh peeled turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons flaxseed
  • 1 banana
  • 1 pear or apple cut into chunks

Instructions:

  1. Put water in blender or vitamix, add ingredients and blend on high for 30- 45 seconds.
  2. If available, top with hemp or chia seeds when serving.

4) Nutty Green Drink

  • 12-16 ounces filtered water
  • 4 cups favorite mixed greens (spinach, kale, romaine arugula)
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1 apple cut in chunks
  • 1 pear cut in chunks

  1. Use vitamix or blender.
  2. Mix all ingredients on high for 30-45 seconds.
  3. Sprinkle sunflower seeds on top when serving.

5) Green Mango Drink

  • 12- 16 ounces water
  • 1-cup romaine
  • 1-cup kale
  • 1-cup spinach
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1-cup fresh or frozen mangos
  • 1/2- 1 banana

Instructions:

  1. Blend ingredients on high speed in vitamix or blender.

    I’ve had kale smoothies before, and they’re actually good. I bet with the blueberries and mango, these smoothies must be delish! Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday.

      You’re welcome Sherry! Yep, I think the fruit definitely helps to sweeten the green smoothies up and they are delicious and full of healthy nutrients! Thanks for stopping by!

    I have trouble drinking green drinks, but I must say that your recipes look a lot nicer than the ones I have had. I would not mind trying some of them. I am sure they are very healthy.
